Two Types of Wasps.

You should know about the two types of wasps that may invade your Chicagoland home.  There is a social wasp and a solitary wasp.  The social wasps are hornets, yellow jackets, etc.  They usually have a larger population than those that we know as solitary wasps.  To spot a stinging wasp try to notice them at rest.  If they fold their wings length wise you have a stinger in your midst.

If you are trying to differentiate between a wasp and a bee know that wasps feed on other insects.  Bees, of course are living mostly on pollen or nectar.  Here is another tip…wasps tend to have bodies that are smooth while bees are generally quite hairy.  A hornet should be colored white and black while a wasp is bright yellow with patterns of black.

They may be pretty creatures when viewed from a distance or on TV, but no one wants them to terrorize their family.  Find out exactly what is invading your property and take action.  You can rely on Kurt Spurgeon.  He owns A Complete Pest Solution a Chicago area bee and wasp control exterminator.  Call Kurt today and find out what the buzz is all about at (630) 464-1542.
