Termites in the Winter.

Wait a second, don’t termites thrive in warmer temperatures?  That they do, they need warmth and humidity to survive.  However, areas with heavy snowfall and frigid temperatures are still susceptible to termite infestations. While it’s commonly thought that termites hibernate in winter weather, this is not the case.

As long as termites have constant access to wood, these destructive pests can live in any part of the country at any time of the year!  Many times, colonies invade homes prior to winter as a means to prepare for the cold weather and seek warmth.  They form tunnels inside of your home to wreak havoc during the winter months.

Don’t think for a second that winter’s dawn is the answer to termite control.  Before you find out the hard way that they have taken root in your castle, call A Complete Pest Solution.  Kurt and his team are Chicagoland’s complete termite control experts.  Please give them a call today before winter sets in at (630) 464-1542.
