The Invasion is About to Begin.

Many wars have been decided because of a lack of that knowledge.  This year you will be armed and dangerous when the invasion begins.  Spring means more daylight and blooming flowers. The downside is that it may also mean unwelcome visitors in your home. As the temperatures begin to rise, many insects come out and take refuge in your house.

To properly prepare for the 2020 annual ant invasion wipe down counters, sweep floors, and clean up spills to reduce potential ant food sources and make baits more effective.  Vacuum thoroughly to eliminate crumbs, even tiny crumbs you can't see. And, above all store food in pest-proof containers.

Yes, they are about to arrive in Chicagoland as winter gives way to spring.  To prepare yourself for these and other multi-legged invaders keep this phone number handy (630) 464-1542.  That will get you in touch with one of Chicagoland’s best pest control companies…A Complete Pest Solution.  Prepare for the invasion!

Your Business Plan Needs to Include Pest Control.

You should have 2020 vision when developing a business plan for the upcoming year.  One of the items that must be addressed is pest control.  If you own a business in Chicagoland just a few pests could change the way your customers (and employees) feel about you forever!  There is nothing to be gained by being penny wise and pound foolish.

Here are some things to ask your pest control company before you hire them –

1.  Identify your potentially worst pests.

2.  Obtain references.

3.  Ask the company to inspect your site.

4.  Review the solutions that they recommend.

5.  Have someone review the contract.

When all is said and done may we recommend a phone call to A Complete Pest Solution?  You can start by visiting them on the web at acompletepestsolution.com.  Then give them a call at (630) 464-1542 and set the ball in motion while it is the dead of winter.  You’ll be glad you called one of Chicagoland’s best.  That’s A Complete Pest Solution.

Business Owners…It’s Time to Make a Plan.

As a responsible business owner in Chicagoland, you plan for the next year about this time.  2020 is less than two months away.  What is your budget?  What goods will you stock?  Who will be involved in your infrastructure?  Have you made plans for pest control?  Yes, pest control can literally shut down your business if you wait for a problem to occur.

As next year rolls by you may experience ants, cockroaches, wasps, mice, and more.  Maybe, as the snow begins to fly you have forgotten about those pesky creatures.  A mouse or cockroach sighting can not only be traumatic to the first person who sees it, but can actually shut your business down while the problem is corrected!

Do not wait until a pest problem visits your business.  Call Kurt at A Complete Pest Solution and develop a 2020 strategy on how to keep the multi-leg invaders away from your business in the first place.  Call A Complete Pest Solution to develop a pest control plan for next year.  That phone number in Chicagoland is (630) 464-1542.

Soon there will be Snow on the Roof.

If you live long enough that will usually be the case.  No, we mean actual snow on your suburban Chicago roof!  Did you think that with winter comes six worry-free months from pests?  You should know better, but in case you have forgotten which pests take refuge in your warm, comfortable home in the winter here is just a partial list.

1.   House mice nesting in dark, warm places around your home

2.  Norway rats commonly nesting in basements

3.  The German cockroach which is the most common in the world

4.  Brown recluse spiders…they can actually be dangerous to humans and pets

5.  Raccoons often entering homes through chimneys

The ants and the bees and the wasps may take the season off, but you are not safe from the critters listed above.  At the first sign of these or any other unwanted pests call A Complete Pest Solution.  They work twelve months a year just like those invaders.  In Chicagoland always remember this number (630) 464-1542 A Complete Pest Solution.

If I Could Live a Million Years.

How about 300 million years?  Wait, who’s been around that long?  Cockroaches…that’s who!  Long before there were cavemen there were cockroaches.  You would think that by now we would be rid of them.  Cockroaches even rubbed elbows (if that were possible) with the ancient dinosaurs.

Cockroaches are disgusting, dirty and can make even the toughest among us squeamish. These pests live in your walls, your cupboards, and your pantries, and they reproduce like crazy.  It is often said cockroaches are so robust that they can even survive a nuclear war and the resulting “nuclear winter”.

All of that may be true, but they cannot survive the cockroach extermination methods of A Complete Pest Solution.  If you live in Chicagoland and are besieged by cockroaches call one of the leading pest control companies…A Complete Pest Solution.  To eliminate any and all unwanted pests from your property just call (630) 464-1542.

Hey Guys…It’s Time to Come in from the Cold!

As spring brings the warmer weather we’ve all been craving in Chicagoland after months of frost, bugs also happen to come out of their hiding spots.  This can be a particularly pesky time for pests.  Take the fly…please.  When the snow melts animal waste is uncovered and the common household fly goes on the move.

Spiders have spent the winter in corners of your home.  Now they are moving through your house in a quest to get outdoors.  Did you know that ants also hibernate in the winter?   Once the spring spills out its warmth, their movement will gradually increase and the ants will resume their typical work schedule.

All of this means that pests are ready to become, well…pests again!  They will be crawling through Chicago area homes at a pace you have not seen since autumn.  Do you want to watch the migration or fight back?  A Complete Pest Solution has just that…the solution.  Give them a call to eliminate bugs from your castle at (630) 464-1542.

Small Bug…Big Treat.

How much do you know about bark beetles?  Have you noticed thinning leaves, tiny holes in the trunks of ash trees and leafy shoots growing from their bases?  There are roughly 131 million ash trees in the State of Illinois.  What a feast for tiny beetles!  Initially, the culprits may look like tiny, innocent grasshoppers.

Despite their innocent appearance, the emerald ash borer, native to Asia, has already destroyed  20 million trees in nearby Midwest states and led to the quarantine of about 15,000 square miles of land since it was first identified in the United States early in this century, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.

A Complete Pest Solution does not want you to imagine your property without trees!  That is what could happen if the emerald ash borer and other such tree destroyers are not checked at the curb before they destroy your trees.  A Complete Pest Solution is Chicagoland’s bug prevention and removal expert.  Give them a call at (630) 464-1542.

The Insects of Illinois.

Here at the end of winter (optimistic thinking) it is a good time to revisit some of the “buggies” that will be making their presence known in Chicagoland come Spring.  How many different insects do you think are listed in the database for the state of Illinois?  How about OVER 600?  That’s right, and we know them all!

There are, for example, sphinx moths, sweat bees, the ambush bug, and don’t forget the good old American cockroach and the domestic bumble bee who will be visiting before you know it.  These few examples along with some of the other hundreds could be buzzing around your home or office in the year 2019.

If any of them do, please call us.  We are A Complete Pest Solution.  We have been eliminating insects from Chicagoland homes and offices for many, many years.  They are sure to be here sooner than later, and we want you to know we will be a phone call away if you need us to exterminate them.  Call us at A Complete Pest Solution (630) 464-1542.

The History of Pest Control.

Controlling pests of all types goes back a long, long way.  Would you believe 4500 years?  That’s right, people began controlling insects with sulpher compounds around 2500 BC!  For a thousand years recorded history does not have much of an advance in this method.  Then around 1500 BC farmers began controlling planting dates to keep the bugs down.

A big year in pest control was 1880 when the first commercial spraying machine was introduced.  It was not until 1921 that airplanes were used to spray crops.  The 1940’s saw the dawn of the much-maligned DDT.  1972 was a watershed year as The Federal Environmental Pesticides Control Act passes. The USDA funds IPM research.

Fast forward to today.  Here at A Complete Pest Solution we use only the safest and most effective methods to control pests of all types around Chicagoland.  As a company we will continue to evolve and innovate in 2019 and beyond.  From our family at A Complete Pest Solution to yours have a very Merry Christmas and a pest-free New Year.

Making a Pest Control Plan.

You plan your expenses and project your income this time of year.  Did you factor in pest control, or did you think that those critters and winged warriors would stay away in 2019?  Of course, you know better than that!  What you could do is just wait for the invasion…or plan to fight it head-on with preventative maintenance.

Many, many Americans have year-round service for pest control.  Those in Chicagoland shouldn’t be surprised to know that homes in the north are hit harder by winter invading pests than those in the south.  Pests’ number one instinct is survival and they’ll do just about anything to find a place to overwinter and live to see another day.

If this makes sense to you, why not call Chicagoland’s leader in year-round pest control.  That name is A Complete Pest Solution located in Glendale Hts.  They travel throughout the Chicago area and would love to help keep your business or home pest free in 2019 and beyond.  Find out how practical a yearly pest control program is by calling (630) 464-1542.

Head’s Up…Winter is Coming and so are These Bugs.

Winter time does not automatically mean that all of the bugs are gone.  Your home in Chicagoland may have been invaded by mice recently and hopefully, you have let us eliminate that problem.  Residents of our area sometimes get a false sense of security thinking that the pest season is behind us.

Keep an eye out for these bugs –

1.  Ladybugs

2.  Stink bugs

3.  Woolly bear caterpillars

4.  Carpenter ants

No matter what season it is those multi-leg menaces are lurking in and around your castle.  You can always turn to us.  We are A Complete Pest Solution…Chicagoland’s complete pest control company.  We have battled every domestic pest for decades and hope that you will call on us anytime.  That’s A Complete Pest Solution at (630) 464-1542.

Rats in My Neighborhood…Really?

We usually think about rats as city pests. We picture them running in dark city alleys to reach their nests in broken foundations or they may be scurrying into burrows under dumpsters behind seedy restaurants.  Suburbia beware!  Rats have found their way out to us as well in Suburban Chicagoland.

Here is how suburban rats occur –

1.  Strip malls nearby with food courts

2.  A neighbor who has a lot of debris on their property

3.  Large numbers of dogs being boarded somewhere close

4.  Overflowing garbage

5.  Bird feeders

Rats are not exclusively urban dwellers anymore.  Just like you, they have found their way out to the ‘Burbs.  When you have a rat problem anywhere around Suburban Chicagoland the very first thing to do is call professional rat exterminator A Complete Pest Solution.  They will eliminate those dirty rats from your property.  That phone number is (630) 464-1542.

Beware the Bald Faced Hornet.

It even sounds scary doesn’t it?  No one wants to get close enough to see its face anyway, but know this…it is possibly the most dangerous of all wasp breeds that annually invade Chicagoland.  The sting is exceptionally painful and in some of our Northern Illinois residents it can be a very serious health hazard!

So, what do they look like?  They are black and white striped.  What about their nest?  It looks like a large, ominous teardrop.  Where do you find the nest?  Look for it under the eaves of your home or, perhaps hanging from a tree.  It probably goes without saying but, for heaven’s sake DO NOT approach the nest!

At the first sign of this dangerous winged adversary please call us.  We are A Complete Pest Solution serving all of Chicagoland in the elimination of wasps and bees from your property.  Please visit www.waspsolutions.net for more details on a variety of winged summer invaders.  Give us a call for fast, guaranteed service at (630) 464-1542.

Pest Review.

It’s nice to know who the multi-legged enemy may be this summer whether you have seen any yet or not.  Specific regions like Chicagoland are prone to a specific group of pests.  It is good to be educated as to the types that we might see here throughout the remainder of 2018.  Which ones are we most likely to encounter in the upper-Midwest?

Here are some of the most common –

1.  Ants…billions and billions of them all over the place.

2.  Spiders…a friend of man until they occupy your home.

3.  Bed bugs…they spread quickly and bite humans.

4.  Cockroaches…hiding out in dark places around your house.

There are many more, of course and they must be dealt with…or lived with.  The latter is NOT acceptable!  At the first sign of any unwanted critter you should know exactly what to do.  Call one of Chicagoland’s top exterminators.  That’s A Complete Pest Solution serving the suburbs of America’s second city for decades.  Keep this number handy (630) 464-1542.

Look…They are Wearing Yellow Jackets!

You would think that someone or something wearing a yellow jacket is there to help.  That is not the case with the annual warm-weather invaders with wings.  Please understand that yellow Jackets are small, compact wasps that are commonly mistaken for bees.  They tend to nest in walls, in attics, in sub area crawlspaces, in the ground, in trees, and under eaves.

Here is a note of caution…all over the counter sprays for yellow jacket control are highly repellent; so all they do is make the wasps very agitated.  Your chance of being stung goes up exponentially if you try to eradicate them by yourself.  Don’t try to be a hero!  Call a professional exterminator immediately.

We hope that by publishing this warning in early May you will be prepared.  Chicagoland’s yellow jacket exterminator pros are a phone call away.  They are A Complete Pest Solution proudly serving the Western Suburbs and beyond.  The first time you see one of these winged invaders please call (630) 464-1542.

If I was a Carpenter…

It is the beginning of a famous old song, but in this case it signifies the beginning of ant season in Chicagoland.  Carpenter ants are one of the most common household pests in the Midwest.  While they are obviously a nuisance indoors, these ants damage wood by hollowing it out to make nesting space.

Carpenter ants are also the largest pest ants in the United States.  The most common in our area is the black carpenter ant.  To help you identify this pest the typical adult, known as a “worker” ant, is black, wingless and varies from ¼- to ½-inch in length.  To be certain, look for the carpenter ant’s smoothly rounded thorax.

They probably won’t go away forever without professional help.  In the Western Suburbs of Chicagoland and throughout our area that comes with a phone call to Kurt.  He is the owner of Chicagoland’s ant control experts A Complete Pest Solution.  At the first sign of carpenter ants in your home call Kurt at (630) 464-1542.

Treating Wood Destroying Insects.

In nearly every case your mortgage lender will require that a wood destroying insect infestation inspection is completed on the property you wish to purchase prior to settlement.  This will insure that it does not have an active infestation or major structural damage from wood destroying insects.

Some examples are –

1.  Termites.  They have been around for hundreds of millions of years.

2.  Wood boring beetles.  There are several different varieties!

3.  Carpenter ants…easy to recognize being black or black and red.

If you are investing in a new castle you simply must have a thorough inspection for these and other creatures before you put your name on the bottom line.  The answer in suburban Chicagoland is A Complete Pest Solution.  A professional wood destroying insect detector will eradicate the problem before you move in.  Just call (630) 464-1542.

What is an Occasional Invader.

When one comes into your home or office you will want to address the issue immediately.  These are the bugs that may not be ants, bees, roaches, termites, and rodents.  They are the ones that you don’t see every year or maybe this is the first time.  Occasional invaders are insects and other arthropods that sporadically enter structures, sometimes in large numbers.

They bring a variety of challenges to your environment.  They may bite, pinch, give out foul odors, damage plants, stain indoor furnishings, and damage fabrics. Even after they are dead, the problem may continue.  Their bodies, skins, secretions, etc. could even trigger a bout of asthma among other human responses.

Occasional invaders must be dealt with quickly and permanently!  This is the time that you pick up the phone and dial a Chicagoland pest control expert who has seen it all over the decades.  That man is Kurt and that company is A Complete Pest Solution serving suburban Chicagoland.  Take control by calling today at (630) 464-1542.

If you were a Bee what Bee would you Be?

Have you ever wondered where bees go in the winter?  I know, we just spent months getting over the weather, but the bees did not disappear forever.  That is a good thing for the future of our planet, but maybe not so great for your property when the weather gets warmer.  Guaranteed…if you have had a bee problem in the past you can expect one in the future.

Like every other creature on earth, bees have their own unique way of coping with cold temperatures during the winter season.  Bees are not birds.  They don’t fly south, they hibernate and store copious amounts of their favorite sustenance honey.  Their sole job is to watch over the welfare of their queen.  They were Game of Thrones long before that show existed!

The bees WILL return.  You can count on it.  When they do, we invite you to visit www.waspsolutions.net.  On this website you will get a nice overview of what does and does not cause problems.  This is the website of Kurt at A Complete Pest Solution Chicagoland’s wasp and bee control experts.  Give them a call at (630) 464-1542.

Termites Know the Lay of the Land.

How long do you think these wood-destroying insects have been around?  Of course, no one knows for sure, but try hundreds of millions of years!  It wasn’t just your grandparent’s problem, it has been an annoyance for the entire human race since the beginning of time.  They live in colonies just a few feet or so below the ground.

How did they begin invading us?  Well, termites began attacking houses when the wooded areas were cleared for building construction and there was no other available source of food near their colony.  They are not in any hurry, but over a period of years they can and WILL do substantial damage to your home or office.

Fight back!  There may be millions of them and only a few of us, but we have A Complete Pest Solution.  They are one of Chicagoland’s premier termite eradication and control specialists.  Your home is truly your castle.  Make sure you protect it from these age-old insects.  Call Kurt and his team at A Complete Pest Solution at (630) 464-1542.
